- 1 pound(s) dried medjool dates (the fat, sticky ones)
- 25 roasted, salted almonds
- 1/4 cup(s) extra virgin olive oil
- 1/2 birds eye red chili pepper, minced
- 1 teaspoon(s) fleur de sel or kosher salt
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Carefully pull the pit out of each date and replace it with an almond. Seal up the date with your fingers so that the hole is not noticeable.
3. Place the dates on a foil lined cookie sheet and bake for 8 minutes.
4. In the meantime, combine the olive oil and chili pepper in a microwavesafe bowl and microwave on high for 1 minute.
5. Remove dates from the oven, place them on your serving tray, and allow them to cool for a few minutes.
6. Using a fork, lightly drizzle the chili oil over the dates. Finish the dish by sprinkling dates with fleur de sel or kosher salt.
